This CPD event will focus on High Acuity Low Occurrence - things we need to be good at but don’t do very often!
Led by Neil Bizzell - Critical Care Practitioner of the Year 2024, this is a CPD event with a difference!
Neil Bizzell and team will be offering teaching, guidance and hands-on skills and simulation opportunities focussed on life-threating emergency care. For most paramedics, these events are infrequent and can become a cause of some anxiety.
Whether you are a new student or an experienced paramedic, join us in Bournemouth for an opportunity to develop your confidence and competence and be ready.
Before the CPD event, there will be an optional early morning trip to the beach to invigorate the brain cells!
After the event there is an opportunity to meet and share lunch with members of the College of Paramedics’ Paramedic Council and Student Council .
Neil Bizzell leads the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance’s Outreach Programme, providing community education and awareness throughout the region. He is a passionate and enthusiastic educator and a highly experienced critical care paramedic. Neil will be assisted on the day by colleagues from the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Bournemouth University.

Food/refreshments
We are unable to provide refreshments for this event but there is a café onsite which will be open for drinks (and pre-made sandwiches, chocolate, crisps etc). There is also a Tesco Express and a Co-Op a few minutes walk away from the building.
Train station
The venue is a ten minute walk from Bournemouth train station.
Driving
The University has very limited parking for its own staff and students. If driving to the venue you will need to use one of the public car parks.
Cotlands Rd Car Park, Bournemouth BH1 3QW is a ten minute walk from the venue and parking is £6.30 for 24 hours.
