Speaker Bios
Alison Johnstone, Programme Manager for Dementia , Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust
Alison has worked as the Programme Manager for Dementia with the Welsh Ambulance Services for a number of years and has been with the Welsh Ambulance Service since 2001.  She leads the Dementia Programme for the Trust, giving a stronger voice to people living with dementia and their carers/families so that they can influence the work of the service.
As a Trust, we are working towards improving the experience for people affected by dementia who access and move through our services, as well as considering the impact it will have on our own workforce. Key work areas include knowledge and skill development for our staff; ensuring co-production; and working in partnership with a range of stakeholders to create dementia and sensory friendly pathways and services.

Chella Rowles, Dementia Coordinator, Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust
Chella joined WAST in September 2019 as Dementia Coordinator. After graduating with a Law degree from University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Chella has worked in a variety of advice, volunteer management, training and project coordinating roles, and led on the Dementia Friends initiative delivery in Wales for Alzheimer’s Society.
Chella’s role supports the implementation of the Trust’s Dementia Plan to ensure people affected by dementia, both staff and those accessing the service, receive the best possible care.  Since starting with WAST Chella has completed a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training at Cardiff Metropolitan University, graduating with the award for Academic Excellence.
