Wellbeing Yoga - Challenge v Recovery

Wellbeing Yoga - Challenge v Recovery
Week 5 : Foundation Practice - Challenge v Recovery
Presented by : Yoga for the Frontline
Date : Monday 13th February 2023
Time : 12.30 - 1.00

Are you looking to reduce tension and find balance in your life?

We're delighted to start 2023 with a new addition to the Rejuvenate. Thrive. Breathe Paramedic Wellness programme, in collaboration with 'Yoga for the Frontline'; an organisation run by yoga teacher, Alix, who is also a member of Police Staff in Southern England.

This 6-week programme of 30 minute weekly sessions provides engaging, online job-specific yoga training with mindfulness as a tactical tool kit for physical conditioning and psychological wellbeing.

The foundation of this training is to build integrity in the body to serve the mind. Practically speaking, this means that for our physical body, we learn control thus preventing injury, and for our mind, we develop the means to unravel stress and either prepare for, or come down from a stress response state.

Benefits of yoga:
feel rejuvenated
find calmness and feel grounded
improved sleep
enhanced flexibility and mobility
reduced back and other musculoskeletal pain

These classes, free for members of the College of Paramedics have been held live from Monday 16th January at 12.30, and every Monday, with the last session on Monday 20th February 2023. Classes will also be recorded for the CPD hub so that you can catch them at a time convenient to you, and can watch them back if you'd like to do them more than once!

The programme:

Week 5: 13th February 2023 12:30 - 13:00 hours
Foundation Practice - Challenge v Recovery (30 mins)
A practice that challenges you to ride through active and passive activation. The question? What challenges you more!

Week 6: 20th February 2023 12:30 - 13:00 hours.
Foundation Practice - Happy Hips (30 mins)
Tight topic especially for those that spend long periods of time seated or behind the wheel. Also an area that anatomically stores stress…let’s create some space. Including a last check in for those on the squat challenge.
