Snowdonia – A Mountain Skills Course for Wellbeing
We are delighted to offer this opportunity to full members of the College as part of the Rejuvenate. Thrive. Breathe. (RTB) paramedic wellness programme.
This event taking place over two days on the 12th and 13th September 2022 is open to full members of the College of Paramedics only and we have limited places of 8.
Walking in the hills and mountains can be an exciting but daunting prospect if you have never done it before. However, being outside and experiencing the freedom of being in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life can be an excellent coping strategy for managing your psychological wellbeing.
To stay safe and enjoy your hill and/or mountain time you will benefit from some basic skills and expertise to support you on your way. As part of Mountain Training’s scheme, Hill and Mountain Skills courses are designed to give you just that. They aim to equip you with basic knowledge and safety skills, increasing your confidence to participate in more hill and mountain walking in your own time.
Hill & Mountain Skills courses are nationally accredited and developed by Mountain Training. The courses are delivered by our approved course tutors, who are all experienced Mountain Training award holders and work on behalf of the course provider, Blackdog Outdoor.
The Mountain Skills course is your key to getting started in mountain and hill walking. If you do have some experience of mountain walking but aren’t confident about planning walks, navigating, and understanding the equipment required, then the Mountain Skills course is an ideal way to learn.
Thanks to charitable funding from the COVID Healthcare Support Appeal, we are able to offer this opportunity to full members for free.
