Cardiac Arrest Management Updated Statement

The College of Paramedics updates it’s statement on managing patients with cardiac arrest during the pandemic

29/04/2020

The College of Paramedics acknowledges the latest information released by Public Health England (PHE) and the subsequent updated statement from the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK) issued 28th April 2020; RCUK Statement on PHE PPE Guidance.

The College remains aligned to its original statement, Cardiac Arrest Management of Patients with COVID-19, issued on 27th March 2020.

We are in no doubt that our members will continue to do their absolute best for patients by minimising delay to the patient’s side in a cardiac arrest situation.  The College concurs with the RCUK, that safety of healthcare professionals is an equally important consideration when dealing with any cardiac arrest situation where COVID-19 is suspected or confirmed.
