Each year, as part of their performance review process the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) invites professional bodies to provide feedback on the regulators that we interact with. The College of Paramedics always welcomes this opportunity and engages in providing feedback on our experiences with the HCPC. As requested, our feedback is based on interactions since 1st April 2023 and focuses mainly on fitness to practise investigations and processes. In our response to the PSA we outline the inconsistencies and inequalities that continue to prevail, the unacceptable timescales registrants endure and the negative impact on wellbeing that ensues.
