Mental Health and Wellbeing Special Interest Group

We are a small community of paramedics who have developed expertise and shared interest in advancing mental health practice and knowledge within the profession. Aligning with the College of Paramedics’ strategic aim to support paramedic mental health and wellbeing, this group has two key workstreams specifically examining patient mental health care and treatment, and paramedic psychological health and wellbeing. We meet bi-monthly to discuss knowledge and learning within this field and its relevance to paramedicine, as well as key issues relating to the mental health of both patients and paramedics. Furthermore, individuals within the group represent our membership at national level meetings and engage with key stakeholders so that the paramedics voice is represented and heard.
