Presented by Helen Hardy MCPara, Chair of the Paramedic Council
Annual General Meeting
You will hear from Jon Price MCPara, President of the Board of Trustees, who will provide a roundup of activities from 2024/25 and Helen Hardy MCPara will announce the 2025 election results. Giles Adams MCPara, Honorary Treasurer, will present an update on the financial accounts for 2024. Attending your professional body AGM and participation in professional activities all contribute towards your CPD. 

The Anatomy of a Time Critical Trauma Incident 
Josh Millwood and colleagues from the West Midlands Care Team present case based learning focused on the need for excellent teamwork in time critical trauma emergencies.

Josh has worked in the pre-hospital sector since 2012 and has recently transitioned into an in-hospital traineeship undertaking a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice.  In his Clinical Support role with the team he enjoys the opportunity to work alongside and learn from other healthcare professionals and has a keen interest in Enhanced Care and how EC Teams interact with colleagues working in the Ambulance sector. I’m also the IT Lead for the team, introducing new systems to streamline the operational process of our work.

The EXIT Project in Practice: New Approaches to Extrication                  
Rob Fenwick discusses the findings of the EXIT Project and how to implement them collaboratively in practice 
 

Rob is a consultant nurse (and advanced clinical practitioner) in emergency medicine in the United Kingdom. He has a background in emergency nursing in both the emergency department and pre-hospital setting. He has a keen interest in research and set up the Extrication In Trauma (EXIT) project in 2011 with Dr Tim Nutbeam. The aim of this work is to scientifically studying extrication following motor vehicle collisions to improve outcomes for patients. He can also be found on The Resus Room podcast, which is available in all the usual places!
 
Human Factors and Patient Safety When Time is Critical
Dr Stef Cormack offers her insight into key priorities when managing time critical trauma incidents.

Stef is Head of Patient Safety and Patient Safety Specialist for Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital NHS Trust. She has previously worked  as a HEMS critical care paramedic and a University Senior Lecturer, specialising in human factors, patient safety, and resuscitation. Her focus is on integrating human factors/ergonomics knowledge, understanding, tools, methods, and research within healthcare to improve patient and staff safety.
