We are seeking experienced and motivated Paramedic Practitioners with skills in advanced practice who can independently complete a full episode of patient care including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge for children and adults aged 2 years and over.

This is an exciting time to join our Clinical Practitioner led Urgent Care/ Walk in Services which deliver high quality unscheduled care. 

Main duties of the job

The services have a dedicated practice educator. 

•    We provide an educationally focused environment, which will allow you to develop your clinical skills, and theoretical knowledge, through work-based education and training including courses related to advanced practice such as Non-Medical Prescribing.

•    With the support of our team of highly experienced advanced practitioners including a practice educator, we will enable you to develop other skills, such as teaching, implementing, and undertaking audits and QI projects, co-ordinating the day-to-day operations of the department.

•    Our St Charles UCC has X-ray facilities and rotational opportunities are possible to enhance and learn new skills.

•    Free parking at St Charles and Parsons Green.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Registered Health Professional Paramedic with HCPC Registration
Evidence of continuing professional education and training at Masters level or completed level 7 module in advanced practice

Desirable criteria
Independent Prescriber (or on pathway to complete)
Qualification in prehospital care or community care
Qualification in teaching or practice-based learning.
University accredited Minor injuries Module
Paediatric advanced assessment module

Experience
Essential criteria
Proven experience of utilising expert diagnostic and clinical skills to provide autonomous, unscheduled medical care and management of patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
Experience of caring for patients 2 years and older.
Experience in working autonomously in an emergency or other unscheduled care environment or working autonomously within a GP surgery.
Proven ability to prioritise and manage own workload with minimal supervision.
Experience of effectively working in collaboration, negotiating, and liaising across organisational boundaries.
Experience in monitoring clinical standards.

Desirable criteria
Experience of team / service/ staff management.
Experience of implementing evidence-based care and developing others to do so.
Experience of conducting research projects and audit.
Experience of change management and implementing change in practice.
Evidence of innovation in practice.
