We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Diversity, Equity and Belonging Manager to join our vibrant team.
Applicants must be able to:
• Inspire and enable all paramedics to participate in the profession within an environment based on safety, collegiality, inclusiveness, mental and physical wellbeing, and innovation
• Promote the College of Paramedics, and its aims and objectives to stakeholder bodies and corporate organisations
• Establish, were necessary, and maintain professional relationships with all relevant stakeholder organisations
• Build on the College’s reputation and professional standing with employing organisations
• Improve the output, visibility and credibility of the College of Paramedics in DEB matters
• Represent the College of Paramedics on national forums and groups relevant to role
• Provide effective professional leadership, vision and strategy development for DEB within the College of Paramedics
• Lead on formal responses and position statements made by the College of Paramedics in relation to the role
• Coordinate the activities of the Diversity Steering Group and diversity strand groups
• Utilise the College of Paramedics communications channels, including social media, adequately and appropriately for promotion of DEB related work, services, campaigns and signposting
• Ensure the actions within the College of Paramedics’ Belonging and Inclusion strategy are implemented, with annual review and updated appropriate to the DEB priorities within the College and the paramedic profession
• Contribute to other workstreams that relate to the role, and following consultation with the Head of Professional Standards, for example, mental health and wellbeing initiatives, educational initiatives, CPD and future research
• Act as an internal expert providing advice and support to all staff and stakeholders in relation to DEB
• Interpret and exercise judgement when implementing policy on both a professional and organisational level relevant to DEB
• Support the Board of Trustees to understand their legal obligations under equality legislation such as Equality Act 2010 and the Charity Commission Equality Guidance and its implementation
• Provides reports directly to the Board of Trustees in line with the Annual Work Plan
• Review all College policies and procedures and ensure they are inclusive and reflect the values of respect and support for staff and members
• Develop, implement and evaluate equality impact assessment, equality monitoring and analysis processes and systems
