About this event
This event is open to full members of the College of Paramedics only and we have limited places of 12.

Our aim, is to promote outdoor recreation as a means of improving mental health and wellbeing.
This is an introductory event aimed at:
People new to the activity
People that used to spend time in the outdoors but, for whatever reason, have lost the confidence to do so
People that are looking to meet like-minded people so that they can plan their own adventures

Using the Mental Health Continuum, this event will be most suited to those members who feel they are 'thriving' or 'surviving'; members who feel they need a little time out in the open countryside and have a breather.

The Mental Health Continuum can be accessed Here:

Event Summary
We are heading out for a 14km circular walk past the impressive dam of Upper Derwent Reservoir, before heading along the side of the picturesque Upper Derwent Reservoir.
We will then head up hill on a steady climb to Back Tor with its unusual weathered coarse sandstone tor formations.
From here we then follow Derwent edge South, (hopefully) enjoying the wide views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Finally, we return to the carpark by waking along the edge of Ladybower Reservoir.
This walk will be taken at a pace which is comfortable for all the group, so could take us circa 6 hours to complete.

Terrain Type – A mix of paths, dirt tracks and sealed road. There are some fairly steep sections on the ascent and descent to and from the edge – flatter paths for the majority of the walk.

Event Distance – 14 km
Event Duration – 6 hours
Event Provider - Blackdog Outdoors
