Session overview
Fitness to Practise can often seem daunting and misunderstood. Drawing on personal experience as an HCPC Tribunal Service Panel Member, this session will provide an accessible overview of the Fitness to Practise process, from referral through to hearing and outcomes. Using anonymised examples and practical insights, we will explore the factors that influence tribunal decisions, the importance of professionalism, insight and remediation, and the lessons every practising paramedic can apply to protect both patients and themselves. This is not a legal lecture, but a practical session aimed at increasing understanding, reducing misconceptions and supporting safe professional practice.
