Affective Disorders

Affective Disorders
Join us for our new series of Lunch & Learns . Adam Kenningham-Brown - Course Leader & Senior Lecturer, Anglia Ruskin University, will focus on recognising and managing psychiatric patients.

Taking place at 12:15-12:45 this session will focus on Affective Disorders. This event will be held via Zoom.

In this session we're going to talk about mania and depression, what they are, and how they influence your patient's behaviours. We're going to look at how to manage these patients and what to avoid as well as to do.

All of these sessions can be quite emotive. Come with an open mind and ready for people, the speaker included, to occasionally misspeak. The purpose of these sessions is to give you some background to conditions we see all the time, some of it may just be reaffirming practice you already do, some of it may be new. It's all about tackling the unmanageable, how to handle psychiatric complaints as a paramedic.

This series of lunch and learns can be taken morsel by morsel, but are best enjoyed as five back to back sessions. Come along to all if you can!

If you have struggled to find time to do CPD recently, our 30-minute bite size sessions will fit right into your lunch break! These five weekly webinars will refresh your knowledge of relevant legislation and encourage evidence-based approaches to patients experiencing substance misuse, suicide and personality disorders.

Please see the separate event listings for the other sessions in the series in June and July on an Introduction to L&L, Organic vs Psychiatric, Substance Misuse, Suicide and Self Harm, and Personality Disorders and Schizophrenia.
