Professor Mike Tipton returns to discuss the differences between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. With lockdown in the UK easing and summer around the corner it is expected that crowds of people will be heading outdoors to enjoy the great British summer.
In this session Professor Tipton, who has over 35 years experience in thermoregulation, explores the key differences between heat exhaustion and heat stroke, pre-hospital assessment, management and treatment.
Professor Tipton has published numerous papers on the physiological changes adverse weather conditions can have on the human body. Mike, was consultant head of the environment medicine division at the Institute of naval medicine, worked with thermal medicine for the Royal Air Force and UK Sports, and has been a member of the RNLI's medical and survival committee for over 10 years.
