Assessing and understanding the forces behind specific injuries, presented by Ana Barbir

This is part two of two. Following on from the presentation by Ianto Guy on the 5th August, around vehicle design and regulations, Ana follows on providing us with an insight into the kinematics and kinetics of accidents and their relation to specific injuries. Ana will discuss incidents involving high and low speeds, seatbelt use, vehicle ejection, helmet use and pedestrian impact.

Ana Barbir is a Senior Consultant in the Investigations Group at TRL. With an extensive educational and research background Ana holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. One area of Ana’s expertise lies within biomechanical analyses specifically low-speed incidents, helmet usage, seatbelt usage, falling objects and slips, trips and falls.

Please see the separate event listing if you would like to register to attend the presentation on the 5th August titled Mitigating injuries in a road traffic collision
