Led by qualified Mountain Leaders, these well-being walks are perfect for meeting like-minded people in a safe environment. This walk will be taking place in the Lake District on Sunday 12th June 2022, 09:00-17:00
About this event
This event is open to
f
ull
members of the College of Paramedics
only and we have limited places of 12.
Our aim, is to promote outdoor recreation as a means of improving mental health and wellbeing.
This is an introductory event aimed at:
•
People new to the activity
•
People that used to spend time in the outdoors but, for whatever reason, have lost the confidence to do so
•
People that are looking to meet like-minded people so that they can plan their own adventures
Using the Mental Health Continuum, this event will be most suited to those members who feel they are 'thriving' or 'surviving'; members who feel they need a little time out in the open countryside and have a breather.
The Mental Health Continuum can be accessed Here:

Event Summary
Starting on the shores of Ullswater, England's second largest lake, in the village of Glenridding we will head up into the hills towards the famous Red Tarn. Whilst this is a perfect picnic spot, if people are up for it we can make for the summit of Catsyecam, giving us some impressive views of Helvellyn and down onto Ullswater. After suitable refreshments we will make our way down, not before ticking the summit of Birkhouse Moor, and on back into Glenridding, where refuelling options are plentiful, from corner shop snacks through to pubs and sit-down restaurants.
Event Distance – 13 km
Event Duration – 6 hours
Event Provider - Blackdog Outdoors
