In a consultation launched recently, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is proposing to increase the annual registration fee from £90 to £106. The HCPC consultation on the proposed fee rise outlines why the regulator believes that an increase is justified stating that it is needed in order to invest in areas such as promoting professionalism and preventing fitness to practise issues. HCPC also highlights the impact on their income when social workers in England leave the HCPC register to transfer to a new regulator in 2019. The consultation closes on 14 December and the College of Paramedics will be responding fully to the proposals. Click here to respond to the consultation.
