London Stroke Clinical Director
The London Clinical Networks bring stakeholders -- providers, commissioners and patients -- together to create alignment around programmes of transformational work that will improve care. The networks play a key role in the commissioning system by providing clinical advice and leadership to support local decision making. Working across the boundaries of commissioning and provision, they provide a unique vehicle for improvement.
The Stroke Clinical Network is a well-established network in London with a track record of achievements across the capital. Work to date includes maintaining the excellence of the London stroke model through annual peer reviews, publication of the pan London AF toolkit to support stroke prevention through the detection and management of Atrial Fibrillation, the development of local stroke operational networks and Improving the quality of care across the stroke pathway using data from SSNAP. The Network will develop key objectives to be delivered by March 2020 in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
The clinical director is supported, as for all London Clinical Networks, by a clinical leadership group comprised of a range of clinical and non-clinical experts from across the capital, representing a wide range of views and perspectives on stroke. The ideal candidate would be a practicing senior leader (medical consultant, AHP consultant, consultant nurse) within this speciality. The individual will also need to have an understanding of whole system needs of people with complex conditions at population level.
The remuneration for the London Stroke Clinical Director role will be for two sessions (PAs) per week. Interested individuals must gain agreement at senior level within their Trust before applying.
