Film & TV Unit Medics
First Aid Plus Ltd established in 2000, is looking for State Registered Paramedics/ECP’s/Registered Nurses, with a minimum 2 years, NHS front line experience to work as a Unit Medics on TV & Film sets.
We are particularly interested in staff who can work on a whole production e.g. 5 days per week & who don’t mind working in or around the London area.
An average day starts with a choice of cooked breakfast from our catering team who will feed you throughout the rest of the day, compliments of Production. Then to the TV/Film set, which may be in a Film studio, a luxury apartment in London, a manor house or even in the street, where you'll liase with the cast & crew, the stunt team & or children & their chaperones.
Our job is to attend to any medical needs, make sure the crew are hydrated, offered sunscreen if outside on a hot day & hand warmers if cold. Attending to any minor or major accidents that can sometimes occur, especially when they are filming stunts. It is also important to make sure the lead actor/s are treated for cold symptoms as soon as possible, so they can continue to work without losing their voice as any delay in filming costs thousands of pounds per hour!
Your own kit is desirable, not essential. Training is given on set with a qualified Unit Medic.
The average pay is £180.00 (depending on qualification) based on a 12 hour day.
To be considered for the role, it's a requirement that we have the following documents;
- Your HCPC Registration No. or Nursing qualification.
- a scanned copy of your DBS certificate (formally known as CRB)
- Your College of Paramedics Registration No. or alternative insurance to work outside the NHS.
- Right to work in the UK
