Members are invited to attend a free College of Paramedics CPD event, entitled ‘Encephalopathy. The alcoholic, the pregnant woman, the gastric bypass and the constipated OAP’, on Thursday 26th October, 2017
Che Bruce, Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Emergency Care) (The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust), will use a number of case studies to promote discussion around common, but frequently missed, encephalopathies. These will take the form of the alcoholic patient, the pregnant woman, the gastric bypass patient and the constipated OAP. Attendees will acquire an understanding and develop clinical suspicion of patients who may have either Wernicke’s or hepatic encephalopathy. An appropriate clinical decision making tool to identify those at risk and who may require intervention will be explained.
There will be the opportunity to ask questions, although these can be emailed through in advance to be discussed during the session.
Refreshments will be available from 19:00 and attendees will receive a College of Paramedics certificate of attendance following the session.
Please email collegeofparamedicsCPD@yas.nhs.uk to book your place – remember to include your College membership number to benefit from priority booking.
Please keep in mind that both the mailbox and the regional facebook page are managed by operational staff around shifts so please be patient when awaiting a response. Thank you.
