Health professionals of all backgrounds work together each day to make ethical decisions with and on behalf of patients in their care. There are times when professional perspectives clash and decisions need to be made under pressure. This simulation based workshop and lecture will explore the dynamics of decision making using a common scenario faced by paramedics.
A small number of participants will undertake a challenging role play in front of a group of up to 50 other learners in a lecture room. After the simulation has concluded, actions and decisions will be discussed and debriefed openly, leading into a presentation on making difficult decisions.
The workshop and debrief will be led by Gary Strong MCPara, National CPD Lead for the College of Paramedics and Associate Lecturer at Plymouth University
