College Area: East Midlands
I have worked as a Paramedic with EMAS since qualifying from Sheffield Hallam University in 2011. I am currently a student again as I am topping up to a degree through Coventry University. I am a Practice Educator, Associate Clinical Support Manager and Associate Clinical Tutor amongst other roles in the trust but predominantly work as part of a double crewed ambulance.
In my spare time I enjoy getting out and about particularly walking and kayaking (though only flatwater… none of that whitewater stuff for me!)
I look forward to getting out and about across the East Midlands Region and making contact with you all at future CPD events. It would be great to hear from you so feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
What is your one most important benefit of being a member and why?
I think the Fitness to Practice cover is an excellent benefit of my membership, we can spend a lot of time worrying about the “what ifs” and it’s great to know professional help and support is available if needed to remove one worry and stressor!
What led you to become a College Trustee representative?
I have been involved with the College since I was a student paramedic and have enjoyed being a part of helping to promote the college and watching it grow assisting as a Station Liaison. I wanted a new challenge for my personal and professional development and felt I could combine this with helping to support the paramedic profession. I look forward to using my enthusiasm to drive forward the profession locally.
How would you like to see the College develop over the next five years?
It would be great to see the College membership numbers continue to grow and push towards Royal College status to make the voice of the profession be more widely recognised and respected amongst our health colleagues.
