James started his career in the ambulance service in 2003, qualifying as an IHCD Paramedic in 2008 with South Yorkshire Ambulance Service, now Yorkshire Ambulance Service. In 2013 he became a Clinical Supervisor. Since April 2015, James has been on a secondment as HEMS Aircrew with Yorkshire Air Ambulance. James has an both a FdSc in Paramedic Science and a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science both via Teesside University. He is also a Resuscitation Council (UK) ALS and EPALS Instructor. In addition to his work with YAS/YAA, furthering his prehospital experience - he also responds on behalf of East Midlands Ambulance Service from home as well as being Team Leader of Edale Mountain Rescue Team in the Peak District National Park.
