Assessing and treating disability in the trauma patient. 


Synopsis: As we work through our trauma assessment and after the highly successful ‘Breathing’ and ‘Circulation’ sessions we move onto ‘Disability’. Using current evidence and current practice Dr Leech will explore an effective approach to assessing the trauma patient including an understanding of where TXA now lies.

Dr Caroline Leech is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Lead at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS trust, a Clinical Supervisor with the Warwick and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, Associate Editor for the Emergency Medicine Journal (EMJ), a member of the Executive of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons and the West Midlands Training Programme Director for PHEM (Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine).
