Statement: Violence Against Paramedics

John Martin FCPara, Chair of the College of Paramedics said: “The College was saddened to hear of the incident earlier this week involving, Michael Hipgrave MCPara and Deena Evans MCPara, paramedics with West Midlands Ambulance Service, who were attacked whilst carrying out a welfare check on a patient in Wolverhampton.

“This incident exposes once again the risks paramedics face on a daily basis as they serve the public. The College continues to advocate that we need to do all that is possible to ensure the safest working environment for all paramedics.

“On behalf of everyone at the College we wish both Michael and Deena a speedy recovery.”
