The University of Cumbria has extensive experience in delivering high quality paramedic education across the UK. Currently we have over 1000 learners on the CPD programme with formal contracts with 9 out of the 11 English ambulance services. We also currently deliver the HM armed forces paramedic programme and an open access paramedic course from our Ambleside campus. This pedigree in paramedic education has led to the creation of the Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice, which recently won the Preferred Provider Status for the Southern Ambulance Partnership (SWAST, SCAS, SECAMB, LAS, IoW), North West Ambulance Service and East of England Ambulance Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team developing and leading the delivery of Paramedic Apprenticeship Degree Programmes in the across England. This role will be the programme lead for the EEAST programme and will be support by the principal lecturer and clinical lecturers. The programme will be located within EEAST education training centre at New Market, and this will be the base location of the appointment.
You will develop positive working relationships with NHS Trusts and other organisations. The University has previously been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Outstanding Employer Engagement Award and this is reflected through the collaborative working with several organisations. You will demonstrate enthusiasm for practice-based education and their specialty, and have a willingness to utilise a range of e-learning technologies and other strategies in order to effect the provision of high quality learning opportunities and the best possible student experience.
This role will play a crucial part in changing the shape ambulance service education within the UK and we are looking for someone that is willing to be creative and innovate. The CEPP is also committed to ensuring that all provision is delivered from a position of inclusivity. Inclusion is one key fundamental that successful applicant must demonstrate. Leading cultural change and challenging the current disparities within the paramedic profession will form a key part of this role.
