Would you like to get involved in developing the work of the College of Paramedics to support diversity, equity and belonging within the profession, the College and our membership?

The College of Paramedics Diversity Steering Group (DSG) is looking to increase its membership and to increase our understanding and engagement with members in order to provide an organisation and a profession where diversity, in all of its forms, is appreciated, celebrated and embraced, regardless of background or identity.

We are very happy to offer two role opportunities to those with expertise and experience in diversity, equity and belonging (DEB). They are Diversity Steering Group member and Diversity Strand Group member.

The member role is open to full, student and associate members of the College of Paramedics who have expertise and experience in diversity, equity and belonging (DEB), within the paramedic profession or wider healthcare provision. The role requires a broad understanding of diversity, equity and belonging (DEB), including of the national context of DEB issues along with an awareness of the barriers to improving DEB, specific to the profession such as recruitment, retention and progression.

The strand role is open to full, student and associate members of the College of Paramedics who have particular expertise and experience in one or more of the following strands: Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage (REaCH), LGBTQ+, disability (including long term conditions), socio-economic disparity, and gender equality.

Either role on this Steering Group would be undertaken in a voluntary capacity, although expenses incurred can be claimed under the College of Paramedics Expenses Policy. The time commitment would include regular (monthly) virtual meetings (next date after applications close is the 5th September 2022 at 0900-10:30am) and twice yearly in person meetings/events (next 3rd October, Birmingham) dependent upon the work needed on any specific project at a given time, but this will always be split appropriately between members of the group.

If you are interested in applying for a place, please complete the application form at the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/7BrTS6Vc5G by the 5th August.
